Tally Light With No App Install — Just Open a Browser
Works in any browser, on any device
Use Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android for the best experience — these browsers support Wake Lock, which keeps the screen on during production without any settings change.
What other tally systems require
Why no install is possible
Cue Light uses standard browser APIs that are available in every modern browser without any installation:
- WebSockets — real-time signal delivery over the internet (~50–100ms via Cloudflare edge)
- Wake Lock API — keeps the display screen on without any setting change (Safari iOS 16.4+, Chrome Android)
- Fullscreen API — display opens fullscreen for maximum visibility
- PWA-installable — optionally add to home screen as a shortcut (not required)
Most tally systems need a native app or local server because they communicate over your local network using proprietary protocols. Cue Light routes over the internet using standard web protocols, so nothing needs to be installed on the device.
