Yes. Cue Light is cloud-native and works over the public internet. The signal routes through Cloudflare's global edge network — director and talent can be in different rooms, different buildings, or different cities.
When the director taps a button in Cue Light, the signal is sent to a PartyKit server running on Cloudflare Workers. All connected display devices receive the update in real time — typically under 100ms. There is no local server, no VPN, no tunneling required.
Hardware tally lights and most software solutions (including Tally Arbiter) broadcast over your local network only. The moment a device is off your local WiFi — a remote guest, a different building, cellular data — the tally stops working. Cue Light has no local network dependency at all.
